A warm welcome to the Dyfed Powys Probation Trust.

My appointment as the first Chief Executive for the new Dyfed Powys Probation Trust began on 1st April 2008. The journey to this post started with a degree in Sociology at Exeter University and a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work from Cardiff University. I have worked for 34 years in the Probation Service; as a Probation Officer in South Glamorgan & Mid Glamorgan, next as a Senior Probation Officer back in South Glamorgan running the Home Office Training Unit & then the Young Offenders' Unit. In 1992 I moved to West Wales where I took up an appointment as an Assistant Chief Probation Officer. In 2001 I was appointed as the Chief Officer for the amalgamated Dyfed-Powys Probation Area.

Now as the Chief Executive, looking back at my career I can honestly say that no two days have ever been the same. Looking ahead, there has never been such a challenging time for the Probation Service, delivering the Ministry of Justice's priorities on reducing crime and protecting the public.

I do hope you find this website an interesting read and that you will contact us if you want more information about the Probation Service in Dyfed Powys.

Caroline R Morgan
Chief Executive.
